ICANN accreditating the first Senegal-based Registrar

and Numbers (ICANN) signing an accreditation agreement with a Senegal-based Registrar –
Kheweul.com.
Kheweul.Com is a private company based in Dakar,Senegal, and registered under OHADA (the African Jurisdiction).
This company will serve every country of Africa for any purposes related to Domain Names business.
Kheweul.com has been accredited to register domain names from the .com,
.net, .biz,.org,.info, .name, and .pro TLDs.
Kheweul.com’s Chairman and CEO Mouhamet Diop can’t retain his enthusiasm: “We’re proud to be the first ICANN-accredited Registrar in West Africa
and the second in Africa,”-he says- “Kheweul.Com is going to work closely with all African ccTLD domain managers and all world-wide registries
to provide domain name services to local African communities.
We also plan to promote the digitalization of African cultural heritage and help the preserve of African multimedia content.”
In his behalf ICANN underlines that “ICANN is continually working to expand
its international participation and representation – and this agreement is an
important step forward in that.”
